1870’s Carriage House Renovation, Private residence

Posted on Posted in testimonials

After living in our 1870 carriage house, for 2 years, we decided it was time to renovate. As an architect myself, I was looking for a local architect to partner with who had a solid understanding of old buildings, a practical knowledge of the local building community and Regulatory requirements and a design aesthetic that would complement my own in a collaborative way. Chris Blair was all those things and more. His input during the design, budgeting, filing, and construction phases was invaluable and we also had a lot of fun.

Renovation and project costs are very difficult and sensitive topics between architects and clients. In spite of my own professional background this was my house and I was now the client. Chris presented options to maintain our budgetary goals and helped us to be realistic when making difficult choices between want and need.

We have been living in the house for 2 years since the renovation and the outcome more than met our expectations. Chris was creative, thoughtful, responsive and professional in every way. If I had another house to build or renovate, Chris would be the first person I would call.
