This is an 18th century ell off of the main 2-story colonial of the same period. A recent addition (below) connected this ell to a sun-room to the east. It is a perfect place for the Kitchen. The result is a ‘winter-dining’ area, visible through the door, with a fireplace, and a ‘summer-dining’ area more reminiscent of the Kenyan Kitchen/Dining of the owner’s recent posting to that country. A deep Porch both shelters those entering and shades the summer-sun.
A compact cleaning area, without a door, was created for dishes and clothes. It helps remove the used/dirty utensils from the dining viewshed.
